New Pressings: Strawberry Fields

The best strawberry in the field is rarely the first one you see.

You lift a leaf. There is a pale little berry underneath, still yellow-green, still asking for another few days. Beside it, one is just turning pink. Then you find the red one. Warm from the sun. That one goes in the punnet.

Strawberry Fields follows that slow change in seven Digital Vinyl colours. A collection for long afternoons, open windows and an album you meant to play all the way through.

A little patience. A lot of colour.

Still on the Stem begins in fresh yellow-green. June Light is paler and warmer, with a little green left in it. First Blush brings the first soft pink, like a berry turning on the side that faces the sun.

Then things move along. Pink Fingertips is rosy and bright. Pick Your Own sits between pink and red: the colour that makes you stop halfway down a row.

Sun-Warmed is the ripe strawberry red at the heart of the collection. One More Berry takes it deeper. The punnet might be full. You are still looking.

Let the light through.

The first three shades have a soft, opaque finish. The final four use our translucent coloured vinyl, letting the platter show through and the colour gather around the rim. Turn the room light down and those pinks and reds take on a different mood.

The colour lives in the vinyl itself. The grooves and label stay clear, with room for your own sleeve artwork to set the scene.
